Although Airstep Australia is best known for our top quality, Aussie made foam underlays, we also offer a range of hard flooring underlay solutions. These products have been added to our range to help ensure we provide a comprehensive underlay product suite, and today we’ll be going over what’s available for those needing underlay for hard floors.
Acoustalay
Unique in that it is able to be installed beneath both hard flooring and carpet tiles, Acoustalay is an ideal option for those looking for noise reduction and impact sound insulation. Crafted from 100% recycled rubber, this hard flooring underlay can be installed under most Laminate and Engineered Timber Floating Floors.
AquaDefend
Manufactured with protection against damage from moisture and water front and centre, AquaDefend has a closed cell construction and inbuilt 200UM (micron) polyethylene plastic sheet. This creates a superior moisture barrier, while also offering fantastic acoustic and thermal benefits. Suitable for installation beneath both Laminate and Timber flooring, AquaDefend can also assist in prohibiting the growth of mould and mildew, therefore creating a healthier interior environment.
Drilay
If your main goal is to find a practical, cost-effective underlay, Drilay is the ideal solution. Designed to meet all required standards without breaking the bank, this underlay is compatible with most Laminate and Engineered Timber Floating Floors and offers an asthma and allergy friendly construction.
Timbermax
Finally, Timbermax is a fantastic all-rounder. Combining the benefits of a moisture barrier and thermal properties with solid noise reduction and the ability to inhibit the growth of mould and mildew, Timbermax is a great option for many applications. Suitable for installation beneath Timber and Laminate flooring, this hard flooring underlay is an IXPE closed-cell foam product crafted from virgin materials.
